Rope Access (SPRAT® Level I)

About the Class

Rope Access Level I provides an intense five-day, 40-hour training course in rope access fundamentals and prepares the students to take the SPRAT® Level I certification exam. CMC was one of the founding members of SPRAT® and our instructors conducted the first certification examinations in 2001.

Skills Taught

All of the basic Rope Access skills including: safety, standards, terminology and procedures, equipment selection, knots, anchors, edge protection, ascending, descending, changeovers, rope to rope transfers, passing deviations, raising, lowering, belaying, pickoffs and partner rescue. Be prepared for a lot of information and an intense hands-on class.

SPRAT® Level I is an entry level worker position the enables you to safely enter and work in the rope access field and gain experience and log time on rope to progress towards Level II and Level III status,

The last day of class will be a written, oral and practical examination by a registered SPRAT® evaluator.

Enrollment Requirements

NOTE: Your spot is not guaranteed until you are contacted by CMC Rescue School confirming your enrollment. The Rescue School administrator will contact you 45 days before the start date to confirm the class will be held as scheduled. We strongly suggest that you do not make any travel arrangements before that time, as classes are subject to cancellation.

Class Fees

EARLY $1,499 when registered and paid 45 days in advance
REGULAR $1,569 when registered less than 45 days in advance

Class Size

Limited to 8 students. We emphasize hands-on instruction and encourage
participation by everyone in the class. Classes fill early, so register soon.

CMC provides all of the equipment required for the training except for personal protective gear such as helmet, gloves and boots.
