Art Maciel began his journey in the high-angle industry in 2008, earning both SPRAT and IRATA Level 1 certifications in rope access. Since then, he has built a diverse and accomplished career across a range of industries, including special event rigging, tower inspections, wind turbine inspection and repair, oil and gas maintenance, structural building inspections, and marine salvage operations.

In 2018, Art joined CMC in a sales role, where he draws on his extensive field experience to contribute to product design and prototype testing.

With over 7,000 hours logged on rope, Art is also a seasoned instructor. He has taught SPRAT certification courses, ropes course rescue, and was instrumental in developing the curriculum for CMC’s Vertical Skills class.

Art’s hands-on expertise and instructional background make him a vital asset in both field operations and training environments.

CMC’s 3-Day, Vertical Skills Class will introduce a selection of Rope Access techniques specifically chosen to improve the rescuer’s ability to move independently on rope. Taking place in a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility with easy travel logistics, students will use industry-leading equipment to move on rope and learn how to better support rescues in challenging environments.

Covers NFPA 1006 Chapter 5 (Rope Rescue) Operations and Technician level skills. Rope Rescue Technician I/II provides an intensive 40-hour high-angle rescue class that teaches skills required by fire departments, mountain, and industrial rescue teams.
Covers NFPA 1006 Chapter 5 (Rope Rescue) Technician Level Skills. Rope Rescue Technician III is an advanced rope rescue training for the serious professional.
Covers NFPA 1006 Chapter 6 (Structural Collapse Rescue) Operations Level Skills. Structural Collapse Rescue is an intensive 24-hour class that provides hands-on training and real life scenarios allowing the student to gain confidence in a building a variety of shores.
