This pre-packaged kit contains the necessary components for replacing worn or expired rope in the CSR2 Pulley System™. It includes 200 ft of Static-Pro rope to match the standard system length. There is a a sewn term on one end of the rope for secure, high strength attachment to the CSR2 Pulley becket. A hex key and nylon cap screw are provided for easy removal and re-attachment of the becket. After the new rope is threaded through the pulley system, the included CMC shrink tube can be applied to seal the rope end.

Please see below for a list of components and instructions on how to install the replacement rope. You can also refer to the video to visualize each step. Please note, once the new replacement rope is installed, the CSR2 Pulley System can no longer be considered a CMC manufactured system, and while the system components maintain their certification, the system itself is no longer considered UL certified to NFPA standards. Please be assured that once the replacement rope is correctly installed, the system will continue to exceed the NFPA (G) strength requirements.

Instructions:

  1. Open packaging and flake the CSR2 Replacement Rope to remove any twists
  2. Use the hex key to remove the pulley becket from the existing CSR2 System
  3. Unreeve the existing rope from the pulleys, cutting off the sewn term may make this easier
  4. Lay each pulley down on a table with the back facing up (regulatory markings showing)
  5. To make reeving easier, fix each pulley in place or have a friend hold them
  6. Feed the unsewn end of the replacement rope through the Double Pulley top sheave
  7. Then pass it through the CSR2 Pulley top sheave, Double Pulley bottom sheave, and CSR2 Pulley bottom sheave
  8. Perform a pull test to confirm the CSR2 Pulley locks up to prevent rope from back feeding
  9. Double check all lines are correctly reeved with no cross overs, overlaps, or twists
  10. With the pulleys fixed in place, start pulling rope through the system, remove any twists
  11. After pulling the rope through, place the sewn term on the CSR2 Pulley becket post
  12. Install the becket over the sewn term using the included nylon cap screw and hex key
  13. Install the CMC shrink tube on the unsewn end of the CSR2 Replacement Rope
  14. Place the shrink tube on the rope end with a 1/8 inch overhang and evenly apply heat
  15. Tie a stopper knot in the rope end to prevent it from being pulled through the system
  16. Inspect and test the fully assembled system and store it inside a bag for protection
