TIM WHITE

Tim has been active in cave rescue since 1990 when he was the first president of the Huntsville (AL) Cave Rescue Unit, Inc. Soon after, he started serving as the Southeastern Regional Coordinator of the National Cave Rescue Commission (NCRC). He served in this role until February 2021. He has been a NCRC instructor since 2004.

Tim currently serves as a  Lieutenant on the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Rescue Service’s – Cave, Cliff Technical Team. During Tim’s rescue career he has participated in more than 200 technical rescues.

He is currently employed by RNR Rescue where his role as Director of Technical and Innovation sees him teaching technical rope rescue and rope access class as well as curriculum and program development. Prior to his position at RNR Rescue, Tim was a  member of the Senior Leadership Team at Over The Edge where he served as their Rope Access Program Administrator. Tim is a Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) Level 3.

Tim is an active recreational caver and has explored many of the deep vertical caves in the Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia (T.A.G.) region of the U.S. as well as deep caves in Mexico.
