Meet The Owner - Jeff Longcor
We’re excited to continue our Meet the Owner Series! This month we’re proud to present one of our Employee Owners- Jeff Longcor, CMCs Product Marketing Manager.
Jeff started his career managing work plans and marketing proposals for construction companies in Boston while also running an ice climbing events and training program. After ten years of successful projects in New England and expeditions to distant places like Argentina, Alaska, and Kyrgyzstan, Jeff drove across the country to California and became an avid paragliding pilot. A defining moment came a few years later when Jeff interviewed at CMC, and on the same day, lost one of his closest friends in a paragliding accident in the Sierras. He realized that CMC presented an incredible opportunity, not only to combine his passion for marketing, safety standards, and rope techniques, but also to do something meaningful for rescuers who come to the aid of others and for technicians working in high-risk environments. Jeff believes “we do our best work when we find it rewarding and when we’re personally invested, that’s how I feel about CMC.”
Now eclipsing 6 years at CMC, Jeff is a Senior Product Marketing Manager at CMC responsible for marketing materials, events, and launches. When asked about what he enjoys in his role at CMC, Jeff said, “I really like getting to know our customers. We are fortunate to have so many people who support us and trust our equipment and training. My goal is to give back to them by providing the best possible information about our gear, and to listen to them when they have ideas and feedback so that we can continuously make improvements”. Motivated by the people he’s met in the industry and by his training in Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and SPRAT, Jeff is making a transition into Product Management where he can contribute more directly to CMC’s innovation. In his words, “the best part about working here is seeing our equipment save lives, and I’m so grateful for the chance to make a difference helping others”.
