Rescue movements in horizontal confined space
In Confined Space Rescue rescuers routinely practice crawling forward into horizontal confined spaces such as a pipe or tube. Rescuers need to consider the direction that they need to be facing once in the space in order to facilitate packaging in the event there is not adequate room to turn around in the space. In many cases that will require that the rescuer enter the space feet first and go over the top of the subject to be able to assist in securing the chosen packaging device.
